The GP Examiner

Structured Constructive Feedback

Case Selection and Development: The GP Examiner contributes to the selection of realistic and relevant clinical cases for the mock session, ensuring they align with the SCA exam objectives and competency standards. By drawing upon their clinical expertise and understanding of exam requirements, the GP Examiner creates scenarios that challenge and assess the trainees' clinical skills, diagnostic reasoning, and communication abilities.

Performance Evaluation: During the mock consultations, the GP Examiner observes the trainees' interactions, assessing their clinical competence, professionalism, and patient-centered care. They evaluate the trainees' history-taking skills, physical examination techniques, differential diagnosis formulation, and management plans. The GP Examiner also assesses the trainees' communication strategies, empathy, and rapport-building with patients.

Feedback Delivery: Following mocks, the GP Examiner provides comprehensive feedback to the trainees. They highlight areas of strength, such as accurate clinical reasoning or effective communication, and areas for improvement, such as diagnostic accuracy or time management. The feedback is tailored to each trainee's individual learning needs and objectives, providing actionable recommendations to enhance performance and readiness for the SCA exams.
