The GPST Portfolio

It brings three courses together in one and covers: Portfolio (WBPA), Safe Prescribing Assessment, Leadership & MSF Helping you build competence, confidence, and evidence to secure Outcome 1 in six months. This structured educational programme supports GP speciality trainees with workplace-based assessments, portfolio development, Educational Supervisor Reviews (ESRs), and Annual Reviews of Competency Progression (ARCP). The programme is designed for trainees at different stages of GP training, including ST1, ST2 and ST3. The central principle is that the GPST portfolio should demonstrate progressive professional capability, not simply record clinical activities or completed assessments. The programme aims to help trainees: - Understand WPBA requirements and the GP curriculum. - Develop evidence across the 13 RCGP professional capabilities and Clinical Experience Groups. - Produce high-quality reflective learning logs. - Prepare for CbDs, COTs, Mini-CEX, CEPS and other WPBA assessments. - Understand PDPs, MSF, quality improvement and leadership evidence. - Prepare for interim and final ESRs. - Identify gaps in portfolio evidence before ARCP. - Demonstrate increasing clinical independence and professional development. The programme is outcome-focused, but course attendance alone cannot guarantee an ARCP outcome. Progression remains dependent on meeting the relevant training requirements and assessment standards.
