This masterclass rebuilds the whole consultation, one domain at a time. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Do I need to attend Communication & Consultation Mastery before Complex Cases?
It's recommended but not required. Complex Cases builds on the same structure, so registrars with a solid consultation foundation already will keep up. If you're not sure, doing both courses is the better option.
Can I attend just one course? Is there an Advanced Session after this?
Yes, you can attend one or both. Communication & Consultation Mastery and the Complex Cases Masterclass are both standalone. Book either one, or both together. The Complex Cases Masterclass runs 12–16 October, for those who want to go further into higher-difficulty scenarios once the core domains are solid.
Is this only for people sitting the SCA?
No. It's built for ST1–ST3 trainees generally. We focus on communication and consultation skills for GP career and primary care. If you're sitting the SCA, the content maps directly onto it, but the skills matter whether or not an exam is on the horizon.
I'm only in ST1/2— is this too advanced for me?
No. Building these habits early is exactly the point. You'll get more out of the rest of training if the structure is solid from the start.
I'm in ST3 and already feel fairly confident — is this still worth it?
Yes. The masterclass is built to sharpen what you already do, not just teach it from scratch. Most ST3 trainees find the gaps are in the details, not the basics.
Is this live or pre-recorded?
These are live sessions, plus recordings of every session to keep and rewatch. If you miss a session, you still get the recording. The role-play and feedback elements are the parts you'd want to catch live if possible, but nothing is lost from the course materials.
What if I can't attend live? What if I miss a live session?
You'll get the recordings, and the guided revision course afterwards covers consolidation, so live attendance helps but isn't the only route through.

The membership is your ongoing library and support system. This programme is intensive, live, cohort-based training — the membership is included as part of it, not a substitute for it.
